Valentine’s Day Gifts for Herūüíē

January is almost over, can you believe that? How’s your first month of the year going? ¬†For me, I can sum mine up in one word: overwhelming. In a good way though. I wish I had an assistant, lol! ¬†Valentine’s Day is coming up soon, and I have a few ideas that would be perfect for you ladies to drop hints to your man. ūüėÉ Most people want the chocolates and lingerie, but it’s a new year to try a different approach. I’m all about the gift that keeps on giving. Take a look at what I came up with.

I think I made this list for me, lol! There are items on here from the fitness guru, to girly-girl, to jet setter. I’m really into sneakers this year and these Nike Roshe’s are at the top of my list to get. I tried them on and I love how comfy they are. The Tory Burch espadrilles are a great way to kick off the beginning of Spring to go along with the Instax camera for capturing memories. Don’t get me wrong, if you don’t have someone special in your life right now, treat yourself to a nice gift. I really want that camera. What about you?

Blogtober! Getting in the Fall Spirit!

October is here! I can finally feel the season change. Pumpkin patch, leaves falling, boots, and new Bath and Body Works candles. I love summer, but fall is my favorite season of the year mainly because of the fashion. I love layering clothes, adding tights to my dresses, and rocking the blanket scarves.

The purpose of my Blogtober series is to talk about all things related to fall. This will be a season of experimenting and having fun. There are no rules here. untitled555

Speaking of going out of my comfort zone, let talk about this outfit that I put together. This cute little baby doll dress hailed from Old Navy and I love this dress! I love how soft it is and the pattern screams “let’s go to a pumpkin patch.”¬†Although its¬†very versatile, this look was my favorite. Even though it was a little too short for my liking, I wanted to keep it modest and fun so I added these knee high socks from Torrid and these burgundy flats (also from Old Navy). For some reason it screams “preppy school kid.”

Denim with Flair

I am not a morning person but when I woke up this morning, I was ready to take on the world! I checked the temperature outside (69 degrees in Charlotte!) and I just knew I needed to look like fall. I picked up a denim dress for $14 from Burlington Coat Factory (a new one open on IKEA Blvd) and I wanted to style it. In my mind, I saw fur and burgundy and then…..snap! Let’s pull this fur vest I got last year from SAKS Fifth Avenue for only $20.

One thing you will learn from me is I take care of my clothes well and I will wear them until they rip in half. I love to mix old with new and I love how fresh the outfit looks. A casual pair of brown booties will keep this look comfy and casual and if it gets warmer in the afternoon, just take off the vest and roll up the sleeves. I think burgundy will be my staple color this season and will probably follow me to the winter because its just enough pop of color that is still subtle if you’re not trying to go for a bold look. I love this outfit because its so festive and screams chic and comfy!

Fall Starter List

Hello Fall! I’m so glad that you were kind enough the grace us with your awesome presence, cooler weather, and pumpkin spice and everything nice!! I decided to start of fall by creating a fashion starter list. This is for the girl who wants to spice up their wardrobe this season and not quite sure where to start with their list. What I love about this list, is¬†that everything is universal. You can mix and match with new pieces and old.
Duster/Cardigan: Even though the temperature is starting cool down, its not quite cold for something heavy. Dusters and cardigans (chunky, long, slouchy) can be found anywhere. Check out this plus size duster here.
Wide Brim Hat: Good for bad hair days, and also a wow factor to any outfit. These are literally everywhere but if you don’t like to browse for hours on end, look at this on right here¬†from Forever 21.
Tees/Plain Shirts: You need a good layering piece that you can match with anything from a cardigan to a motor jacket. You can pair them with jeans, leggings, or leather pants.
Boots/booties Bring on the booties yall! This is THE main staple to a fall wardrobe. There are endless possibilities in pairing these. The price ranges from $30-$350 and they are everywhere. You don’t need an expensive pair of boots like the Tory Burch rider boots below, but start with these¬†from JustFab.
Crossbody Bags/Blanket Scarves:¬†Cross body bags, blanket scarves will add spunk to a plain outfit. You can have on a plain tee, jeans and booties and of course you would look……plain. Throw on a cool scarf preferably one will plenty colors and patterns and a bag with fringe and that will change your look.
Think of this list as a guide. What are some of your fall starter pieces? Happy Shopping!

Product Review: CocoConscious Collective

I came across this product line on Instagram where¬† I saw a BOGO code for their products. Before I decided to spend money on products I’ve never heard, I decided to research. I stalked their Instagram, researched the products, checked out YouTube reviews to see if it was worth it. What I learn about products that are not well known, they are the needles in its haystacks. After getting enough information that I needed, I thought it was pretty good and that I should try it. If I didn’t like it, I could give it away.

A little bit about the brand…..

Based in Addison, Tx., this company specializes in the hair care of both curly and straight hair! Each product is hand selected and the products are free from parabens, sulfates, and harsh chemicals. You know what that means, right? These products are 100% certified natural. Even though some of the hair products I used are not like this, it is very nice to run into a brand that focuses on the actual health of the hair by using natural products.

I decided to try them out, and I absolutely love them!

First, let’s talk about the shampoo. I love it, i love it, I love it! As soon as I worked the shampoo in my hair, it started to detangle immediately and my strands of hair separated easily. Not once did my hair felt stripped, but the complete opposite! Its very refreshing to find shampoos that not only focuses on not stripping the hair, but to aid in detangling.

Step 2 is the Elasticity Restore Rinse which is pretty much self-explanatory: it restores the elasticity in the hair. One thing I noticed after rubbing this conditioner in my hair is how springy my curls are. I can pull a strand and then it bounces back.  The Luster Revival Leave-in has this semi thick consistency that really penetrates and moisturizing each strand. To work best, I sectioned my hair and fully rub in the product. I learned that if not rubbed in completely, there would be a white residue that almost looks like dandruff.

I did use the Hydrating Creme as a moisturizer for a twist out and decided this will be a staple for twist outs. My hair sucks up any moisturizer and normally after a day or two, my hair dries and poofs out (like a blowout). I was very surprised to see that my twist lasted longer than two days. My twists were very shiny, and soft.

Check out my first demo on how I used this line on a wash day. This was my first time which was fun, yet difficult. What are your favorite wash day products??
