Blogtober Series: Mixing with Prints

Mixing prints was never my thing. I grew up seeing plus size girls only wear black because it was the only appropriate color to wear. I’m glad things have changed!

Have you ever looked in your closet and saw things that you wanted to wear…at one time? Meee!! I would pick out a brown dress, a black jacket, some off the wall yellow flats and a bright green scarf. Then I look at it and I’m thinking, are you crazy?

This outfit was kind of like that idea but I made it work. I call it my festive print mixing, lol! The color pallete reminds me of the beautiful leaves falling off a tree.

When I first put everything together, the scarf wasn’t on, but I felt it was the right amount of sass. I love how earth tone colors can bring out the beauty of my complexion without being over the top.

Try it. Mix colors and prints with your confidence and show it off.

PS: This hat is FAB and I intend to wear it everywhere!

Blogtober Series: Styling Shorts

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! I decided to create another look by transitioning another summer item into a fall ready look. I purchased these shorts from Old Navy (Old Navy is my store!) about 3 or 4 years ago and still have them today. Look, I’ve been shopping at this place for years and if you take care of the clothes, they will last.

That’s besides the point 😂. I wanted to wear them to work (a business casual setting), but I knew they were too short for a lot of skin. I grabbed some really cool tights that had skulls on them to camouflage my legs making it appropriate…and chic. I always have a pair of trusty flats by my side. Don’t get me wrong, I love heels but I want to show you its possible to look fabulous in flats.   I brought the look to a casual setting by pairing it with this light sweater from H&M that was very comfy.

So before you put them away, try throwing some tights or leggings on under your shorts (jeans too) and grab a light sweater. This creates a whole new outfit with pieces you already have. Recycling clothes into different looks also saves you money as well. If you’re on a budget like me, get as many different wears as you can!

Don’t forget that awesome hat 😀.

Blogtober Series: Summer Romper in Fall

When the seasons change, so does your wardrobe. Once summer ends, it’s time to put away the shorts, summer dresss and rompers. I never thought  twice to transition my summer wardrobe into fall. What crazy person would wear shorts in cooler weather? Pssshh, not this kid. That was my mindset when I was younger. Boy, was I the crazy one! Fashion and style is an ongoing journey and a constant change. I love trying new looks and seeing what looks good on me and what doesn’t look good on me.

I wanted to experiment with this floral romper from Forever 21 to see what I can put together to make it, say…..fall festive. Sometimes a romper can be a hit or miss on a plus size figure depending on the cut and style. I like my rompers to be comfortable and I don’t like it to be so tight that its unflattering in the leg area. Thankfully this romper was a hit and was $24.90!

I paired the romper with black tights and a long black cardigan and kept it comfy with my trusty black flats. The tights gave it a modest yet sexy look and the look was completed with a black wide brim hat. This outfit is for that person who wants to try color but may still be hesitant about going out their comfort zone.  I suggest with starting with one bright piece and work your way from there.I’m in love with this look and I’m definitely excited to show my summer to fall transition looks. Stay tuned.
