Chambray Love (Spring Lookbook)

Who doesn’t love a good chambray piece of clothing? I’ve always been a fan of the chambray but Benjamin really got me into it a couple years ago when we wore matching outfits (white pants and chambray button ups). I was in love.

The bare shoulders trend is my absolute favorite trend for this season. I think a bare shoulder is absolutely stunning, delicate and sexy. Its the body part that most women never think to show off. When you add ruffles to a bare should piece, it takes the look to a whole different level. I swear, ruffles can make your outfit look expensive! Ruffles can be dressed up, or casual, so I decided to keep this look casual by putting on the coolest pair of ripped boyfriend white jeans I picked up from Cato Fashions last year, but they are carrying them again this year. The star of this look, of course, is the shirt from Forever 21. It is fairly new, but you can find it here.

I remember when mules were a huge trend when I was a young teenager, and I wasn’t a huge fan, but I am here for them TODAY! I actually like them. They are classic and comfy and pairs wells with any outfit. I found these nude suede mules at my local Cato Fashions and I love them. Get your pair here.

Dress it up…

Allow me to switch up the look a little bit. You know this top is super versatile, right? You can wear it off both shoulders or one shoulder. You can even wear this on your shoulders in a professional setting at work. I love this top, its so darling. Try dressing this top with a fun maxi. Would you believe I found this maxi skirt at Rugged Warehouse? It was less than $10! I believed I had it for over a year now, I think and it is still holding up really well.

I decided to tie the shirt into a crop style to create a little bit of shape to my look since the dress flares out. To add a little sassiness, add a cute straw hat! This little guy came from Forever 21 and I’ve had it over a year, but trust me, you can find these anywhere!

A Softer Side

Have you seen this dress before? Yes, you have! I styled it last year and it is one of my favorite dresses. Aside from blue, white is my favorite color because I love how you can look soft and sophisticated. Its such a clean crisp look that can be slayed or dressed down. Let’s “casual it down” here.

Don’t mind the sun, I was getting my life! I decided to pair this dress with a chambray button up shirt from Old Navy. To add some shape, I tied the ends of the shirt into a knot and left it open. I felt like I was going to brunch with the girls and all I needed was a giant hat.

Romper Love

Okay, despite everyone going crazy with the #Romphim trend for men these days, I love a good romper! Let me tell you, a romper is designed for women who have yet to put the perfect outfit together, or is just plain lazy sometimes, but still wants to look chic, like me. I picked this romper from Cato and I think it looks pretty dope plus its on sale here! I don’t understand why women can’t seem to find anything in that store, there are so many awesome finds!

One drawback from this romper, is the clasp is too flimsy for a blessed girl like me in the bust area. There is one small clasp, that leaves a wide gape, which could be unflattering to a modest lady like me, so a bralette would look real nice under.

Aside from the minor issues, this romper is very comfortable and I literally though of 4 different ways to style this piece alone. Because I am plus size, I am most comfortable in a romper where the leg part is not too short where you feel like you’re going to spend your day digging it out of your booty, you get me?

*Thanks to my fiancé for taking these lovely photos
