Wow! I’ve been at this for a year? Well, happy blogaversary to me! Its been such a joy just taking the time to write about the things I love from fashion to natural hair. Over the course of 4 years, I’ve been trying to start my own blogging platform, but I never stuck with it. I would start for a couple of weeks, get discouraged and quit. Fast forward to 2016, and I made myself a promise to keep going. This is something that I love, so why let it drag?

What keeps me going?

My daily inspiration from my favorite bloggers and influencers play a big role, especially the ones that started from where I am right now. The common denominator between all of them is consistency and hard work. Anything worth having is worth fighting for. It is a reminder that if I keep working and producing better content each and every post, I will get to where I want to be!

Who are your biggest supporters?

*SMILES* My fiancé is my biggest supporter! He encourages me EVERYDAY to keep going and to focus on what I love and translate that to my platform. He constantly tells me that he sees a glow in my eyes every time I do research, or talk about trends, or lipsticks, or rave about shoes. He is also the one responsible for these lovely photos of mine, especially in this post. My sister-in-law is my right hand girl, and she is always giving me words of encouragement and constantly keeps my confidence going. I also have a plethora of friends, and family, including strangers that spits positivity to me all the time.

What are your Plans and Goals for CurlsWithStyle?

Simple question, huh? Listen, when I was growing up, social media wasn’t this huge platform where you can build a business. I never thought that I could make a living doing what feels natural to me. Yeah, I have a normal 9-5 job, but it isn’t my life’s career. I’ve always maintained an interest in beauty and fashion since my young teen days. I’m excited to see what my second year has in store for me and my main goal is to stick with it and be CONSISTENT. Here are a few more goals:

• Collaborate with my favorite brands
• Create a healthy balance between building my brand and my 9 to 5
• Travel on behalf of CurlsWithStyle
• Start a Back to School Program for Young Women surrounding Girls Empowerment (surrounding beauty, fashion, and all things girly!)
• Make CurlsWithStyle a full-time business
